BUILDING PEACE WITH JUSTICE: As Stephen was being stoned he cried out: "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." Do these words sound familiar? Stephen echoes the words of Jesus when He was being executed: "Father, forgive them for they know not what they are doing." (Luke 23)
Reflection: How can these just men forgive their executioners? Where does that kind of forgiveness come from? Why did Pope John Paul II say that "there is no peace without forgiveness?"
