BUILDING PEACE WITH JUSTICE
"How big is my world?" and "How large can I love?" are good questions to take away from today's readings. In Wisdom we are reminded that to God the universe is the same as a drop of morning dew. This is a challenge and an invitation, for our limited imaginations, to see all of creation, including ourselves, in the smallest and the largest realities and love it as God does, unconditionally. Likewise, in Luke, Jesus shows us how large our heart can be. Who is Zacchaeus in our world? Who are we called to love as companion and peer even though the world paints them with dark and suspicious colors? From the microscopic level to the cosmic level, God loves everything into being and sustains everything in love. God calls us to do the same. "How big is my world?" "How large can I love?"
BEREAVEMENT MASS
Our annual Bereavement Mass will be held on Thursday, November 8th at 7:00 PM in church. During the Prayers of the Faithful, the names of all those who died during the past year will be mentioned. Family members will be invited to come forward and light a candle in their memory. All are welcome and invited to come and pray with those who are grieving the death of a loved one. A reception will be held in the Parish Hall following the Mass.
