St. Thomas Aquinas

The stained glass window (to be pictured at a later date) was donated by Patrick Feeley in memory of Thomas Feeley and restored in memory of Anne Custom.

St. Thomas Aquinas lived from 1225 AD - 1274.  Of noble birth, he rejected a a life of riches to become a Dominican.   He is the noted for his studies and using Aristotle to reason theology. His magnum opus, the unfinished Summa theologiae, is the basis for modern Catholic Theology.   He is a Doctor of the Church, but it should be noted that later in life, while saying Mass, he had a vision of God, and as a result he stopped writing the Summa.   He explained that after seeing God and all His Glory that all he wrote was mearly "straw".
