We are a Roman Catholic Church located at 113 N. Geneva Street in Ithaca, NY. Whether you are a long-time parishioner or a first time visitor, we’re glad you are here. This is where we gather to meet as brothers and sisters to share our Catholic faith, worship and encounter our Lord, Jesus Christ through the Eucharist. - Pope's Intentions - October. For A Shared Mission. We pray that the Church continue to sustain in all ways a Synodal lifestyle, as a sign of co-responsibility, promoting the participation, the communion and the mission among priests, religious and lay people.

- October - Month of Holy Rosary. The month of October invites us all as disciples to Meditate on the mysteries of the Holy Rosary. The Rosary is the meditation on the life and mission of our Lord who entered into this world through the womb of the Blissed Mother. Mary was obedient to the Word of God and welcomed with joy. Mary was chosen by God, and she accepted to be the means through which God would bring to fulfilment His promise of the Messiah. Blessed are you among women, and Blessed is the Fruit of your Womb, Jesus!! Pray for us!
- Daily Rosary after Mass during the week.
- Night Song will also resume in October and are on the 2nd Thursday of each month beginning at 8pm. This is always a wonderful way to end the day and relax and reflect.

Need to Know
- Census Launch - Thanks to all who have already participated in this important exercise. We ask you to take a few moments to fill out the census form available via the link above. We hope to contact and hear from every parishioner concerning their census and registration status. If there is a reason that you are unable to fill this out, could you let us know that reason, so we can help with personalized attention. Our goal is to capture everyone one in our parish. If you have any question do not hesitate to let any member of the census team know. - Service Team - Backpack Appeal — The Service Team is once again collecting backpacks and school supplies for underprivileged children. We will be collecting donations this weekend and next weekend ONLY. Bins for donations are located at the entrances of the church. The supplies will be distributed to needy children through the Department of Social Services. As always, your generosity is most appreciated.
- 2024-2025 O.C.I.A Registration. O.C.I.A.— The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults—starts Monday, September 23, 2024. Both Deacon George Kozak and Deacon Dan Hurley will co-coordinate this process as they have in the past. You are invited to consider joining us this Fall. We will tentatively meet on Monday evenings from 6:30 —7:30pm. The location is still to be decided as we will once again be regionally based. The evening could also change after our initial meeting. Please prayerfully consider this throughout the summer, there is definitely a spot reserved just for you!
- Volunteers Needed - volunteer catechists and volunteer youth ministers are needed for our middle school and high school youth groups. Would you please pray and contact Rich at the parish office or email him at rich.rasmussen@dor.org if interested.
- Wisdom Of The Church - Everyone is invited to study Church teaching that focuses on living our faith in the world. We'll meet immediately after the 10:30 Mass in the parish hall. Next session is July 28th.
- Liturgical Committee - Definition of the Liturgy Committee: The Liturgy Committee is a standing committee of the Parish dedicated to the promotion of active participation in worship. The overall purpose of the Liturgy Committee is to assist the parish in preparing and providing for the spiritual development of the members of the parish through liturgical celebrations and significant prayer experiences. The Liturgy Committee is active and helpful in recruiting and training liturgical ministers, preparing parish liturgies and prayers, setting parish policy drawing from the diocesan policy, along with educating the parish in issues of liturgy. Therefore, the Liturgy Committee assists the pastor and pastoral staff in forming and maintaining a vision of liturgy, which is truly the center of the life of the parish. This committee will meet 4 times in a year (quarterly). Contact Fr. Chumo if you are interested in serving the parish in this endeavor.
- Upcoming Updates - Coffee Hours will resume in October, however there is a new update on the schedule. Coffee Hours will only be held once a month EXCEPT January and April and continue through June 2025. Dates are 10/27, 11/10, 12/1, 2/2, 3/2, 5/4 and 6/1. We are asking any and all Committees, Ministries and/or families to please sign up to host so we can have a completed schedule by August. Please contact the Parish Office to request a date. Our Marian Masses on the first Saturday of the month will resume also in September. These were always well attended and featured our Children’s choir. First Friday Adoration and Saturday Holy Hour will resume in October. Friday Adoration is from 5-8pm on the 1st Friday of every month; we will encourage parishioners to sign up to cover each hour for this to happen, and Holy Hour will continue on Saturdays from 2-3:30pm. Night Song will also resume in October and are on the 2nd Thursday of each month beginning at 8pm. This is always a wonderful way to end the day and relax and reflect.
- Misplaced something at church? Our lost and found basket is at the rear of the church before the Vestibule area.
- Reconciliation. Confessions are heard every Saturday from 2:00pm-3:30pm in the Church.
- Annointing of the Sick. Call 273-6121 to receive this Sacrament or if your loved one is in the hospital.
- Religious Education or Sacrament Preparation. For Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation email Rich at rich.rasmussen@dor.org for information or to register.
- Getting Married? Call 607-273-6121 at least 6 months in advance of your wedding date.

Our volunteers help bring the Eucharist to the homebound and those living at Cayuga Ridge, coordinate our Food Pantry, and participate in community events. Our Service Team helps feed the hungry and helps support those in need in our community.

CATHOLIC MINISTRIES APPEAL
The 2023/24 Catholic Ministries Appeal with the theme of “Go Forth With Christ” is about a third of the way through the campaign. As of March, one hundred forty eight (148) parish households have pledged and/or paid $53,186 toward this year’s campaign. This is 93.31% of the $57,000 goal due to the diocese for this year’s campaign. Participation is important as a measure of the viability of the parish. We are making excellent progress toward meeting our goal. Thank you to all who have already given.

Seven Sisters Apostolate
Committed to Praying For Priests
The Mission:
The Seven Sisters Apostolate is a call to strengthen the church by ensuring that a Holy Hour is prayed each day of the week for the sole intention of a specific priest or bishop—a “holy wasting” (cf. Matthew 25:10) or lavishing of prayer for his deeper conformity to Christ. Each participant commits to one hour of prayer, one day a week for the pastor of their church. At Immaculate, we use the hour to pray for Father Chumo and his intentions, as he shepherds our church and parishioners.
Although the ministry is called “Seven Sisters”, it is not restricted to women. Men may also participate. We ask each participant to commit to a specific day of the week, but the time is decided by the participant. Ideally, the prayer happens in the parish church in front of the Tabernacle, but the holy hour can be prayed in any quiet location if it’s not possible to get to the church. The Apostolate has suggestions for prayers, but there are no rules or specific prayers that must be said. The participant decides how and what s/he wants to pray. The only requirement is that the hour of prayer is dedicated to the parish priest. We currently have commitments for all seven days of the week, but if you’re interested in participating in the ministry as a substitute, or possibly in the future, please contact Jan Nye at janmnye@aol.com.

Gracious and loving God, we thank you for the gift of our priests. Through them, we experience your presence in the sacraments. Help our priests to be strong in their vocation, set their souls on fire with love for your people. Grant them the wisdom, understanding, and strength they need to follow in the footsteps of Christ. Inspire them with the vision of your Kingdom. Give them the words they need to spread the Gospel. Allow them to experience joy in their ministry. Help them to become instruments of your divine grace. We ask this through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns as our Eternal Priest. Amen.

Exodus90
The Exodus90 program for Catholic men is designed to help you break out of the spiritual doldrums and to grow closer to the Lord. The program starts 90 days before Easter, and combines prayer, asceticism and fraternity. All these elements taken together lead to freedom: the freedom to say NO to those things that enslave us and to say YES to GOD, your family and your community. Though we began the 90 day exercise in January, it is not too late to join us during Lent! We have one group based solely in Ithaca that meets in person and one that includes men from both Ithaca and around the region that meets via zoom. Both groups meet on Saturday mornings. The zoom group continues meeting year-around as a men’s prayer group when we are not doing the Exodus 90 exercise. To learn more, contact Rick Burgess (cbprincipal@gmail.com).
